Hi Bombero0437,had the same message the other day and rendalunit suggested adding ,false to the source line and it worked for me for example

AviSource("C:\Temp Videos\101.Dalmations.II.Patches.London.Adventure. 2003.DVDRip.XviD-.avi",false)
see if this helps

G'day Bombero

Check out this thread

I posted the way I got around this problem there. It is probably because you dont have an ac3 codec installed and the avi's have ac3 audio.

well, the problem is not with the audio as i see it, the problem im having is with TMPeg reading the script for the video. I was able to mux the adio from the movie and get it to MP2 format with Headache. I have XviD and DivX and ACE codecs installed, the movie plays and sounds find in WMPlayer...I just cant get it to start encoding with the templets

Sorry that didn't work but my problem was also with the sound being ac3,even though i seperated the sound and made it into an mp2.when i loaded the script into tmpge i was getting the same error you were, adding the false to the avi source line Kwag said it ignored the audio part even though you don't use it.Also when i loaded it itno tok it was giving me a strange frame rate, something like 480x56.

Hopefully someone will have an answer for you

Heres the link that fixed my problem if you want

This error means that an application cant read or find a codec to decompress an audio file ie: tmpgenc cant load ac3 file.

Wmp is probably using direct show filters to read it where tmpg doesnt ( or something like that).

Try adding false to the avi source line in your script as has been suggested this way the audio is taken out of the equation.

It is good that you have been able to encode the ac3 stream to mp2 the file I had at the time would not load but this was several rebuilds ago, it is a pity I dont still have the file to test on now.

You could try extracting the video only with VirtualDub. Open your film in VDub, Click Video, Direct Stream Copy, and Audio, No Audio. Then Save as AVI. The resulting file will have video only, so change your script so that it points towards that...
