Okay, I am wanting to fiddle with a few things to experiment. I like to create DVDs with lots of footage on with similar quality to SVCD. I usually use the half DVD KDVD template, but I wondered if I am able to change some options without making it non-compliant ? I reduced the CQ down to 55 and the quality was average, but the file size was great at 700mb including audio for an entire movie. Usually the template is set to 70CQ, but if I were to change that, will it make it non-compliant ? I am just worried I will change something that means it wont work on most players.

So, what can or can't I change in TMPG controls, and how high or low can I take things ?

Changing the cq wont make it non compliant, the main thing woth DVD is the GOP, it is limited to max of 15 for PAL and 18 for NTSC
