nice choice FCJaguar88! ive had that movie along with re-animator and dead alive sitting on my HD for months, yet ive never really yielded positive results. they are old classics, so they are primarily transfers from video, which makes quite an abundance of noise/interference.
i always do standard 1CD kVCD (352 x 480) rips, but if you are going to try a kSVCD or whatever, you might want to use CCE leaving in the noise. CCE seems so like noise and encodes it well. currently, with older movies, im finding this simple script works great for quality vs size:
mpeg2source("E:\XXXX-dP\xxxx-dP.d2v")
LegalClip()
Crop(X,XX,X,XX)
BilinearResize(XXX,XXX)
AddBorders(X,XX,X,XX)
SpaceDust()
temporalsmoother(1,2)
LegalClip()
if anyone wants to step in, please, feel free. thanks!
