Hi joshsmitty:

The value of P's in the KVCD GOP structure is set to 5823 ( KVCD's signature as seen in your telephone keypad )
It really can be any value above 12, because the MAX number of frames is restricted to 48 in the template. So from 12 to 9999, it makes no difference in file size or quality. So I stamped it with 5823

Does the I frames are part of the GOP? cause if they do. the max number of frames should be 50, you know 12 P+(12*3 B)+2 I=50, right? but i dont know if there is so much difference if the P is 11 or 12, cause this is what happen if you set the max frames to 48, it forces the P to go to 11... well, if the I frames count.

There's only one ( normally ) I frame per GOP. At least in all mpegs created with KVCD templates.

Ahhh that's true! i've got confused cause i saw an I at the end of an image(an image showing a GOP example) but it was the begining of another GOP mmmm 49 then? or the I doesn't count? Well, don't forget that when you began your page i began my learning in this kvcd stuff, so i'm still a newbie ok? Let's leave it like it is right now, for some reason you locked all settings in GOP...

Take a look at the image, by the way the article is interesting:
