AAhhhh,

Thought I did this ones before and it worked but now I can't get it right...

I'm using D2S V 1.2.1 B2 now and the optimal script for D2S.

Now I have to transcode an Avi to KSVCD and I have an (external) sub file (.txt) that I want to put in there permantly. However (!) -> no subs show up in the preview screen (using DivX script).

When I use the "old" Divx filter (see below) the subs show up fine (?).

What should I use to have AND the best quality AND perm subs ?

-------"OLD" DIVX script
0=ConvertToYV12()
1=Undot()
2=Blockbuster(method="noise",detail_min=1,detail_m ax=8,variance=0.3,seed=5823)
3=ATC(2,3,5,0.5,false)
4=TemporalSoften(2,7,7,3,2)
5=GripCrop(^TargetWidth, ^TargetHeight+^BorderTop+^BorderBottom, overscan=^overscan, source_anamorphic=^source_ana, dest_anamorphic=^dest_ana)
6=GripSize(resizer="^resizer")
7=DCTFilter(1,1,1,1,1,1,0.5,0)
8=Blockbuster(method="noise",detail_min=1,detail_m ax=10,variance=0.5,seed=5623)
9=GripBorders()
^overscan=1
^source_ana=false
^dest_ana=false
^resizer=LanczosResize

Well I'm starting to regret updating to D2S 121b2.

At first Avi->SKVCD transcode BeSweet was in a error "loop" with some kind of errormessage (can't remember.....stupid).

After that BeSweet exits with "illegal operation" report from WinXP (Shibatch.dll is mentioned).........

Anyone.......?

With optimal script you must remove the line "8=function ConvertToYUY2(clip c){ return isYV12(c) ? c : convertToYV12(c) }" if you want to use permsubs.

For besweet, if you have a problem (I don't know why), just go to the original site of besweet, take the last version and put it under the one delivered with D2S (you will find a besweet directory under D2S one).

Hi Jorel,

I already had Xvid codec installed.....I installed it again (xvidcore 0.9.2), but still the error message "deen need YV12 input" occurs......

Anyway, using the old DIVX script I have no problems and subs show up perfectly in the final muxed mpg file (with good picture quality)......but now I have another problem !! (AAAHHHHH ... ). I can't get audio in the final muxed .mpg (?)

When I loaded the .avi file in D2S I got an (warning) message from D2S reading "frame rate 23.979 not supported. Framerate will be adjusted". I also checked NTSC -> PAL conversion (for SVCD log see below), just to be sure.

Gspot says the Avi is DivX 3 low motion with MP3 CBR 128 audio track.

Of course I want audio in my endresult........(.

Any ideas on the frame rate warning ? (should I change this first in some other prog ? because I remember correct bitrate should have been 23.976 instead of 23.979). -> by the way DivFix shows no problems with the .avi

Other strange thing (maybe now you know the problem, I don't....) -> The generated "Encoded_audio_1.mp2" file is silent (when played in WinAmp) but the "Encoded_audio_1.mp2.wav" file contains perfect audio.....(weird ? or does this ring a bell ?).

I gues my next problem will be audio synch (again) right ? ....Well one thing at a time.

(By the way, this is my 5th avi conversion I think, and the first 4 went perfect)

I really appreciate your advice and help !

No, you're right Paulus. I appologize : during my long vacation I forgot a lot of things, and one of theml is : optimal script doesn't work with permsubs.

You just remembered me why

Sorry, you have to make a choice between the two (or use ATC insteed of Deen but results are far below).

Ah...Phil is back ! ....Hope you had a good vacation !

I think my sub problem is solved with using the "old" (previous) divx script.

Any ideas on my (no) audio issue ? I'm running a new transcode session as we speak (11 minutes to go....) after changing the framerate to the "standard" (?) 23.976 with AfriFrate.exe. Hope it brings audio "back online" also (small chance ?). Hope D2S can do the job. I don't want to do everyting manually (Vdub-Headache etc..)

By the way, I did change BeSweet version back to the previous build (1.4 ?) because it seems buggy (also according to readme.txt that came with it). At least it doesn't crash now.

Hope to hear from you my friend(s).........

I don't know what you are talking about. Where is the thread ?

If previous version works and last one crashes, you don't really have the choice

Solved !

The FrameRate change did the job ! Unbelievable. I am really getting to learn this thing

Now one final encode with CQ is 74 and I can get on with the next 50 avi's I have here.......pffff

Thanks

Phil wrote: "where's the thread"...

Maybe I wrote too much text and i need to be more clear.......

In my long story I asked several questions regarding the fact that I also had a problem with no audio.....

quote:
..."Other strange thing (maybe now you know the problem, I don't....) -> The generated "Encoded_audio_1.mp2" file is silent (when played in WinAmp) but the "Encoded_audio_1.mp2.wav" file contains perfect audio.....(weird ? or does this ring a bell ?)."

And I already found the answer (changing framerate first, apparently the audio failing had to do with the framrate of the avi not being correct. So sorry for wasting your time but maybe it was useful to report anyway.....).

....it's not over yet.......

Thought all was OK but on my final result the audio runs out of sync after 20 minutes or so.....(Damn ! ).

How can one convert avi's with non standard frame rates (I'm guessing it must have something to do with the frame rate.).

I'm searching on all the forums. CAN it be done with D2S (i hope it can).

Use an "assumeFPS" command in the script maybe ?...........

Simple : strop use D2S to make avis. Use CQMatic for making prediction and encode directly Video + Audio (+subtitles ) with tmgenc.

I use DS2 only for DVD now, and just because I don't want to bother myself with all operations that need.

For avi, a script template, a texteditor (to update the template and make the real avs), cqmatic and tmpgenc : that's all I need so far.

Yeah...I figured as much that D2S is not perfect for some avi's. (with another project I have synched audio and good subs but now the aspect ratio is all wrong, even though I've set it to 4:3 no borders added.

Could you give some more advise on how to do it directly (video + audio + subs) with TmpgEnc.

How you use the avisynth script, for instance ? (and subs ?).

For the sub you just need to find the subtitle plugin (called VsFilter.dll) and add a line at the end of your script with :

TextSub("subtile_file_name")

That's all.

For making the audio with tmgpenc, simple also : do your avs script without using the ",false" parameter at the end of the line "avisourcce". Do everything as usual (i mean, prediction part) with only video. At the very end, just before lauching the encode, select "System(audio+video)" insteed of "ES(video only)" in tmpgenc main window. Normally the audio source should indicate the same name than the video

Dailhot,

Your sollution with the VsFilter.dll works! It shows the subtitles. But how do I edit them (like font, font-size and color)? Any ideas. And is it maybe possible to replace the AvisynthSubtitler used by default by d2s? In the .ini files the only thing to edit is the pointer to the dll for the AvisynthSubtitler. If I could make d2s call for textsub("SubName") in stead of AvisynthSubtitler("Subname"). Then the whole problem would be solved. You can use the VsFilter.dll in stead of Avisynth Subtitler.dll

Thanx,

Tinus

Of course it works

For modifying size and font, see what I said in this thread : http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic....rt+style#40636

And for the last question : you can't override the usage of the AvisynthSubtitler but you can tell D2S there is no subtitle to handle and simply take care of it by yourslef by adding manually the line "TextSub" at the end of your script.

Sticking with D2S for next Avi project.....

Only for the "weird" framerate avi's I need to do things manually I think (VirtualDub, etc).

Now I have a question regarding the positioning of my (external) subtitles.
D2S offers settings for the position but they don't seem to do anything (on preview - in Tmpeg and in the final result).

Problem is that my subs are positioned to far down. On the TV you cannot see the 2nd row of the subs.

I want the subs as high as possible in the bottom black bar. What settings to use ? .......

Below is my svcdinfo.txt for current project...

For this kind of question (why settings offered by D2S don't work) you can join directly the guy who does D2S on doom9 forum.
For my part, I can't answer to your question.

If I were you, I'll do what I suggested just above, in this thread : do not use subtitle feature of D2S and add manually a line with "textsub("...")" at the end of the script. This way you will have a complete control on what is done.

OK,

downloading VSfilter and SubResynch as we speek.

SubRsynch for the positioning settings

Adjust script as part of video encoding......

"Textsub("your subtitle file here") at the end of the script..

Thanks once more........keep you posted !
