MovieStacker: MovieStacker Crash my Computer

everytime i try to start it, it gives me a warning about avisynth, and when i click ignor i get the blue screen.
i have win 98s and i saw in other posts that you recomended to upgrade to xp, but i can't do it now.
is there anything else i can do?

I fear there is no solution but Jorel can perharps give you an other answer (he uses w98 also, if I do not make any mistake).

first, edit the MovieStacker.ini
in the end of the file you have a line:
FileNameSrc= x\xxx\x
remove everything after the = (equal signal),let only the
FileNameSrc=

after this open the prog and if the advice is:
"Avisynth v2.5.x detected. you can use it.
but MovieStacker only supports 2.x versions"
"Abort........Ignore"

click in "Ignore" and all will be ok!

if don't work, i need to know what advice do you got!

i couldn't find it anywhere all i have are some dll's and pst's.

it's in the MovieStacker folder.
my windows is in portuguese but in english will be:

c:\program files\MovieStacker

no i don't have it, i have the MovieStacker.exe the unistall 3 notepad files filters folder and presets folder, but no MovieStacker.ini.

For sure, Moviestacker never run on your PC or never had the time to create its ini file

But Jorel : are you using W98 or not ? Because I'm damn sure that I tried on a friend PC (with w9 and it crashes also !

yes Phil,i'm using 98se and is working
perfect with MovieStacker 2.0.0 BETA - 24/Apr/2003!

and you are right,
he don't have the .ini cos the prog don't run yet!

maybe some vbrun is missing or directx!

please ts,post the advice that you got when you try to run the prog!

where can i get this version? maybe it will work on my comp.

this is the error i get in the blue screen , if it matters.
"a fatal excetion 0E has occurred at 0028:c0059c80. the current applicatio will be terminated"

if you click "Ignore" in the advice, you got the blue screen?

i tried closing all programs, but it didn't help.
the only diffrence was i could get rid of the blue screen by clicking the spacebar insted of resarting the comp.

ok i was able to run MovieStacker once without crashing my computer.

after i clicked ignor, i got an error pop up "external excption 46" i clicked ok on the program came. i closed the program and tryed to open it again, but than i got the blue screen again.

well i keep trying to open it now with all apps closed, half of the time it crashes my computer and half of the time it works.
so i guess i could use it somehow.

in my 98se is working,never got any problem!

but as i said even if we won't find a solution, i could use it in 50% of the times, very enoying but works eventually
