720x480 4:3 TV MPEG2 capture for 352x480 SKVCD.

When I enable GripBorders(), I cannot get TEMPGEnc to set aspect ratio (tried all combinations) and get borders on top and bottom of film with vertically compressed image on TMPGEnc screen.

With Gripcrop/Gripborders/Gripsize correctly setted, you set "center" in tmpgenc (or fullscreen) and everything is okay.

Now.. be carrefull that the default for Gripcrop is to handle the source as anamorphic ! If it is not the case for your source, you must put "source_anamorphic=false" in the gripcop line.

Else you will have a vertically streched picture as you report.

Will try anamorphic statements and set to "center" or "fullscreen". My problem is that the picture is compressed vertically, not streched, but I assume that this will fix it.

Your aid is appreciated, as usual.

Hi nicksteel,

Have you tried using the standard resizing given by MovieStacker, instead of using GripFit

Forget my english. I was thinking "compressed" and I wrote "steched".

Gripcrop thinks your source is anamorphic (ie streched) so it compress it to restore the correct aspect ratio. The problem is that I guess your source isn't anamorphic, and does not need to be compressed. That's where your problem is.

"source_anamorphic=false" cured my problems and then being able to use gripcrop() reduced my MPEG2 size.

Thanks, Phil!
