Well, I finally made it here. I got a suggestion for ya. Maybe make a faq section so that it may lower so many posts and sooooooooo many of the same questions. Also if you decide to do this, maybe break it down to a few sections, such as tmpegenc, avisync, vcdeasy/nero dvd2avi and such. Here are a few questions to maybe start you out with.
Does using the noise reduction in tmpeg make the file larger?
Can you use tmpeg to cut and/or add to a .mpg/.mpeg file?
How big of a file can you get onto a cdr-80? Myself I say the actual file size can't be any bigger then 740 megs, and that's with overburn used. The measurement I am using by the way is with windows explorer, when you look at the actual file size that is the maximum file size you can put onto 1 cdr-80 with overburn. Without obverburn it is about 717 megs. Does anyone else agree or disagree with me here? Anyhow, I just thought that it might make things slightly better without so many of the same questions and posts to go through.

Hi ZeppelinFan:

Using noise reduction with any encoder will make smaller files, because what happens is that noise is blurred and sharp edges are smoothened. The result is smaller file size and cleaner image.

Yes, you can use TMPEG to cut/merge mpeg files. I suggest the old version 1.2b for cutting and merging, because the versions 2.x produces audio/video sync problems when joining files.

CD-R max mpeg size for VCD's:

VCD's are written in what's called MODE-2. So a 74 minute CD-R can hold 740MB of video + overburn, and a 80-minute CD-R can hold 800MB of video + overburn.
