Hi.

I converted an avi file to KVCD using TMPGEnc and the templates on your website. After multiplexing i had a 740MB file. i tried to burn it using VCDEasy but final .bin file size exceeded 800MB.
I tried both MPEG-1 files and MPEG-2 files and none of them worked.
How can i put a 90min movie with good quality(SVCD~) on one cd?

Thanks ahead.

I do author my KVCDs & KSVCDs using VCDeasy, but I never used that appl. to burn with as my burner is not supported.

BUT ... maybe there's an option to burn in MODE 2 which means that about 805 MB of Moviedata can be burned to one CD-R80, as to me it seems you you're trying to burn at Mode 1.

VCDeasy is made to do VCD easily. And for taht, you don't have to do anythign to burn correctly a VCD (if your burner is supported ).

LevP, did you muxed the files in "MPEG1 (VCD non compliant)" or "SuperVideoCD" in tmpgenc ? Or in VCD / vbr or SVCD in bbmpeg ?

If you muxed in "simple" MPEG1 or MPEG2, the problem is there !

Thanks for your help.
i think i muxed it badly.
I muxed threw TMPGEnc in the MPEG tools section Multiplex, but i don't think i picked Non-Standart when i tried MPEG-1.
I'll try to do it again.

BTW
I want to make a 91min 1CD movie in maximom quality, the movie isn't an action film but still has some heavy scences.
What to use? VBR or CQ? MPEG-1 or MPEG-2? what bitrate to use to use most of the disks space.

best quality can be archieved by using

- CQ mode encodings! (=better bitrate allocation) and ...
- mpeg1 encoding mode (=more compression)

And for a 91 minute movie, the resolution to use is 544*480 or 480*480 if the CQ goes to low with the first one (let say under 65).

And which CQ shuld i give to a 91min 528x480 movie?

That depends on many factors. For doing KVCDs, there's nothing better that MPEG-1 using TMPEG

Read about file size prediction in the forum areas.
