I posted the following in the DVDlab forum after having problems trying to compile a DVD over 3GB. I used the kvcd template with:
MPEG-1 352x240 29.97fps CQ 70, Layer-2 48000Hz 64kbps

I realize DVDLab was not designed to use Mpeg-1 files but I have a bunch of lo-res TV episodes I am trying to put on DVD. It works reliably when making a disk up to 3GB but anythng over seems to bring a "serious" compile error.
I have spent all day experimenting and recompiling and the only time that finishes is if the result is no bigger than about 3.1GB
I am putting together about 40 twenty minute episodes with menus.
I took out the menus and it still failed.
I compiled with dummy video and it worked.
I cut out the movie it was quitting on and it still failed (if over 3GB)
I cut out some middle files and it would compile the files it quit on fine (if total under 3GB)
It compiles all the way to 3 GB and then quits at the end of a movie (The vobs are there but no other needed files)
If I try the alternate engine it quits right after the menus and before the first muxing.
Is there some kind of ceiling at 3GB or 720 minutes? If I cut out just 2 episodes it works, but I want the whole series on one dvd and there is still 1.7GB of free space that I plan to use with longer seasons of other projects.

Any other mpeg-1 compilers out there who have made large DVDs with the KVCD template.
