there is difference in the colors using cce 2.66 and cce 2.67.
I think of yes.
They use a different space color?
I have used version 2.66 and the colors seem a lot faded.

it depends on the encoder or the filters?

There is no diff between 2.66 and 2.67. But 2.50 trial is different (if needs to have a "ConvertToYUY2 as last line in the script where 2.66 and 2.67 accept to receive YV12 clip).

But the colors are different if you have the habit to use TMPGENC. In fact it seems that it's tmpgenc that modifies the colors.

Also we know that TmpgEnc internally does convert to rgb24!
Means a different colormodel than YUV (YV12,YUY2).
Converting from a rgb model to a 4:2:2 or even 4:2:0 does mean a totally diff. Chroma subsampling than just a 4:2:0 (xvid/divx/DVD) to 4:2:2 conversion which is done by CCE internally.

Thats also why avisynth for example does contain the ConvertBackToYUY2() command if converted to rgb32() from YUY2 before=better back-colorsampling.

I always do feed the following encoder VIA avisynth with his wanted colorspace so a ConverttoXXX() is obligatory in MY scripts as I only do trust in avs (maybe Im wrong, ... but Phil and I wanted to test that out ... uops...still on the to-do list )

@ ink :

ink = colors my friend.....colors....."ink-read-all" ---> colors (spectral-rainbow)l

like 1x1=1 (the only one)
then inc = INK !

Ahhh ... yep!

I know whats ink (ink-printer-cartridge )

I like your interpretation!

BTW: I don't like my full name that much anymore "incredible .... wow, what does that mean, ... is he so incredible or what" *lol ... to people who don't know me that could sound a bit arogant

But that name was born loooong time ago when I was entering the MAC section of vcdhelp.com .... I had to choose a name and it was the first "synaptic" reaction in my brain as I was working on an billboard ad where the headline did include that word *lol* (laying right in front of my eyes on the desk), .... and now as I'm in that much forums so everyone knows who I am ... thats all.

So "Inc." or even "Ink" is welcome

@ ink

...from my dictionary...
ink= "ink" for write..."ink" = mantle with "ink"(color) ...
(inform=sign a document)
...from my brain...(brain?)...
without ink.......no colors!

"... to people who don't know me that could sound a bit arogant"
no,i (we) don't feel it!

see that i put or change the "akka" of my friends here
....or i write his real names!
(Jell,Phil,zooter,friendalunit,Otto,Osvaldo,netten ,d&c,V,Correia....lots more...and now INK)

ps:
i don't change the "boss akka"....he can shoot me!
....but i will!

No!
until now I used cce 2.66 and I had to use converttoyuy2 in the scripts. After I have installed the cce 2.67 and now I do not have need more than converttoyuy2 in the scripts.

With regard to the colors, it is a problem of player, if I use powerdvd I see the colors correctly.

from the moment that I have installed the 2.67 I have used sampler=15 with 4 various scripts and the differences, about filesize, regarding the 2.66 have been following:

(filesize respect cce2.66) %
1.° script (without filters) cce2.67 - 3.11%
2.° script (diahot) cce2.67 - 2.08%
3.° script (vmesquita guide without ma) cce2.67 -0.2%
4°. script (vmesquita guide with ma) cce2.67 + 0.05%

(time encoding) %
1.° script (without filters) cce2.67 + 2.17%
2.° script (diahot) cce2.67 + 1.82%
3.° script (vmesquita guide without ma) cce2.67 +10.31%
4°. script (vmesquita guide with ma) cce2.67 +6.59%

it is strange that, without converttoyuy2, the times of encoder increase even if little.

Actually as the file size a smaller, that means that they change a little the encoder engine. So there is no need to compare the speed.

Its defenitely different according to colors if an encoder just keeps YUV as YUV or if he just rapes the movie to rgb24! These are totally diff. color models and you see a color change (ok if you got eagles eyes but I just answer to your statement as you talk generally )

I do check my streams only in Vdub as I noticed that PowerDVD or WinDVD do some strange things to heavy compressed streams ... well but thats a codec or directshow setting thing I think

I thought was the opposite one. Therefore it is the powerdvd that it changes to the colors and not the others player!
