hey all,
i'm looking for a chevrolet 350 engine and a th700r4 tranny for my 72 Datsun 240Z v8 conversion. I once had an 84 Buick LeSabre with this type of transmission and it died so I'm a little skeptical about the 700r4 but i heard they're more reliable after 1986. Since I'm a Mopar guy I don't know much about chevy cars. What kind of car or truck should I look for with a 86 or newer 350+th700r4?

I know a video forum is an odd place to post a topic like this but there's about 100 people here now and someone might know about this
thx

I'm no expert, but I had a bronco and a Blazer, I have friends with 4Runners and Rav4's (that one is for babies) but my personal opinion and my experience is, the Cherokee, it has all the power you could ever want, you can get the parts even in the pharmacy, and trust me, its extremely reliable and stable, I should now, I used mine, for a week with a problem on the converter and the radiator and I was safe and sound all week until I decided it was time to go to the shop. You can get a 360 5.9 lt. motor, and again they have a lot of power.
Hope I was of some help

hey glanzend,

I have to stick with the chevy small block because the conversion kit (motor mounts, etc.) are designed for this. I wish that I could use chrysler engines for my DatzunZ swap because I have a complete 318 & 360 sitting out in the garage

thanx
