Hi Guys,

I was reading a post over at D9 where it is said you can with slight adjustment to DD settings make it work forever if used in conjunction with AnyDVD.

Check out the thread >>>Here<<<

Tell me what you think, i'd love to hear your views on this.

There is a confusion.

Here they suggest to use AnyDVD to decrypt the DVD and then use DVDDecrypter just has a Iso maker / burner.

The interrest of DVDDecrypter was not in it's burning engine (even if it is one of the best ones), but in its capability to decrypt disc that other tool can't read. And this include AnyDVD !
(for instance anyDVD has just been updated to read ArCOSS, that was present in DVDDecypter 3 monthes ago...)

I agree with you there Phil, AnyDVD just getting round to overcoming ArCOSS when DD had it ages ago proves how good DD was but now that its gone I guess we have to look elsewhere in the future.

For sure but this article says "DVDDecrypter will live for ever". It is the iso read/write mode of DVDDecrypter that will live forever. And I'm quite sure that not everybody will understand that by reading that post.

If you go with this, DVDShrink (that is free) makes DVDDecrypter "live forever" also as it can use DVDDecrypter to burn the transcoded disc.

I agree the Subject of that thread is somewhat misleading and misinformative.

People will think that the ripping side of it will live forever and clearly that is not going to be the case, while I appreciate we still have a while before we start to panic about DD becoming useless.
