Making the borders thinner?

Is there a command I can put in my scripts in Moviestacker to make the borders on the top and bottom thinner?

KVCD: Borders on sides of video, as well as top/bottom?

Whilst making a sample of a video I find that there are thin black borders on the sides of the video as well as at the top and bottom.

Any help on rectifying this would be helpful.

KVCD: 705mb file won't fit on 800mb/90min cd?

OK, so I did the usual converting of an Xvid video to KVCD, came out with a file 705mb big, thought sweet, this'll work on my 800mb cd.

However, when I write cd and it's about to burn, it tells me...
