There's a trailing "dot", that the mouse pointer will catch up if you move the mouse too fast.

Because the TCP/IP stack is identical in both versions!
Or is it that there are some wireless utilities in the professional version that I'm not aware of :roll:

Not really :)
You only get some additional service on the Prof. version.
So if you intend to use it as a home OS, then XP home edition is just fine.
