Well, you're trying to fit a 544x224 into 480x480.
I think you're going to have a big problem trying to get a correct aspect ratio!

I haven't tried that, because I don't do DIVx to mpeg, and also...

You are trying to resize a 544x224 movie.

What target destination did you select in FitCD.
The (448,256) doesn't make sense.
