maybe it is the source file......i ripped a svcd to mpeg 2 using vcdhelp.

video and sound sync with kvcdX2 2CD

when i use this template the sound and video get out of sync the video is faster then the sound. i had this same problem when i change the "content of video" feature to film movie on the project...
