and tried a low level format on a 20GB Maxtor drive
and kept getting...Divide Error. So I contacted Maxtor
and their answer was...

@Anyone,
Just bought a bunch of Hard Drives (Maxtors, Quantum, etc) with
DOD degaussed lables which are reporting seek errors on
boot-up. Is there any way these drives can be re-used or have I...
