Okay I just checked and at the beginning of the film the audio is early by a full second or two but it slowly gets more in sync by the end of the film.

Interesting, they are not the same. According to VirtualDub, the M1V file is 1:48:51 and according to HeadAChe, the MP2 is 1:48:36. I think the problem is that when I open up the origanal XViD file...
