Same think VM : it cuts only by size and you do not have any control on the cut point (except that Karl does nice things and hre you will never cut on a not I-frame) :-)

Yes, with the only drawback" DVTool (at least the one I know) is a "general" cutter so :

1/ there is no preview, you cut "by size" and not "by time",
2/ if unlucky you can cut on a non-I frame,...

The problem is that a file can be good enought to be read but not to be decoded (analysed if you want) by the author tool. The same if you try to use it as source for reencoding it, that can fail.

Edit: I don't know if you need to cut the begining or the end but for the end, dvdlab can do that directly.
