You're right, I wanted to say that all avi are non anamorphic and I mistaken this with "avi are 4:3" ;-). Fortunally Gripfit takes care of 1:1 A/R also (if I remember well what I saw in your sources).

There are anamorphic and non anamorphic sources !

DVD can be fullscreen or anamorphic.
Avi are generally non anamorphic...
