DCT blocks in dark area are tied to MPEG codec. So it do not depend on the source.

But, the K-Notch matrix and the usage of CQ mode is supposed to reduce a lot the phenomena, and so you shouldn't...

Your problem is probably dancings squares that are called DCT blocks ? No ?

If yes, it can be reduced by adding a blokbucter line at end of the script.
