Peter, an Athlon64 3200 is known for better overclocking as anyway you want to push it a little, thats why I recommend it.
Also think about the mainboard, the MSI KT NEO Platinum gots the most...

I think there was a thread related to this on doom9 and it seems that on XVID jobs AMD is also faster, well it depends on the instruction sets (but to whon I say that as YOU got skills in coding...
