1. Als DVDlab allows importing of non std. DVD m2v streams.
2. at an encoding WIDTH of 720,704,544,528,480 .... an overscan of 2 (=16px on each side) is optimal and won't be seen on most Tv sets....

It all depends on your standalone and if he accepts that non-standard resolution stream in DVD mode!
You can use DVDlab to import non standard resolutions in case of authoring DVDs ... just try it....
