I'll answer my own question

Hving removed all references to the preview version of Gripfit from my system (and I guess, specifically in the AviSynth2.5 Plugins folder did the trick bewcause a 90 minute television show (MST3K)...

Yes it is. The autoload feature reads the plugin one by one in alpabetical order until it finds the function it needs.
Here it looks for "GripCrop", finds it in "Gripfit_preview" (that is before...

Jorel, my script is exactly the same as yours, except that there is some extra space between the end of a few characters and some commas, and the fact that I do not need PAL. I suppose it is possible...

But it is in the directory. Could the problem be that the Gripfit_Preview.dll is also there?

1. Downloaded Avisynth 2.52
2. Downloaded all appropriate filters and placed in the AviSynth2,5 Plugins directory
3. Pasted your script to the end of my KVCD_LBR.ini file

I don't read the backs of packages :oops: I had just assumed that it would not have these black bars (part of the learning process). Still, it ripped/encoded okay, and looked a lot better on my tv...
