Nope, my player didn't play the movie correctly....

Nope, my player didn't play the movie correctly. It's weird 'cos all my dvds I've encoded with 352x576(480) resolution have worked without any problems.

Here's short clip of the movie....

I'll try that mpeg2 trick.

Now I did prediction with 352x480 resolution and...

Now I did prediction with 352x480 resolution and got CQ 80,36. (It's sad my DVD-player doesn't understand that resolution)
I only encoded 10% (don't have time to wait) and file size is now 69,6mb....

I had few different results but none of them was what you suggested (red text). If I remember right, some encode-test resulted only a black screen with subtitles running on the bottom. But no red...

all files are located @ g:\ktemp\ (avi, avs, srt, srt.style and tpr)
and there's no source range selections made.
