I've been looking for a while now but I don't find how to use DVD2SVCD and CCE to convert avi to kdvd.
But I have a question.
If I use the following guide:
http://www.doom9.org/mpg/dvd2svcd-avi.htm
Can I simply use the KDVD CCE template with this guide?
Is D2SRoba similar to KDVD?

If you could just give me a clear answer to these question then I can go on.
But if there is another more easier way then please add it below the answers.

I did not read the guide but I can answer for what I imagine is in into it : using CCE template for KDVD and D2SRoba should lead you to a KDVD.
But I did not used DVD2SVCD since more than one year.

D2SRoba has nothing to do with a target format (KDVD, DVD or whatever). It's a method to encode in "1-pass quality" mode with DVD2SVCD. You have to use it to do a KDVD because this is how we do KDVD generally (by opposition to 2-pass encoding method used elsewhere).

What do you find the best way to make a KDVD?
Which guide?
Which program?
CCE or TMPG?

Send a message via ICQ to incredible
What about looking at kvcd.net (main page) at the right where "Articles" is mentioned ---> Guides Guides Guides.

Program depends on your budget.

CCE
TmpgEnc
HC
etc.

ALL are capable encoding in a KDVD used way as its simply a matrix usage thing, means the "notch" Matrix will be used which can be found in the TmpgEnc Templates or for CCE at the Vmesquita Guide (follow the link at "Articles" - mentioned above)

When I looked at vmequita 's homepage I found something interesting.
DIKO, an automated tool.
Is this a recommended tool?

When I install the program without the update I can choose between KDVD and KSVCD.
Are you saying these aren't really KDVD and KSVCD methods?

The "method" requires to use the KVCD-Notch matrix. Diko do not use it anymore since Vmesquita created his own "BVCD" matrix. This can be considered as a small change but the result is that Diko do not do KVCD but BVCD. Technically not the same thing.

Any further question about this tool have to be asked on Vmesquita forum.

Nice pics on that thread.
I can see that VMesquita went to his own BDVD as of Beta3.
So if I use Beta1 it will still be KDVD.
I'll try that one for now.
But after that I'm going to see what VMesquita's avi2kdvd is all about.

This thread is near a cup of questions that site admin interdited some time ago. (read disclaimer and another announcements)
Anyway as another mods answered you here previously and this subforum has not mod I will answer you.

You still can with DIKO to encode KVCD with CCE. Just go to the folder "DIKO\Templates\CCE" and replace into templates BVCD matrix by KVCD one. For more information about DIKO go to vmesquita.com/forum.

Any further question about DIKO or xvid/divx to any format won't be answered by me (and I think neither by another people here). But just in case, if any do it, remember that admin could delete your/they posts.

Lol.
Luis, it is already hard to me to not jump onto Diko once I see that word because it can also do DVD->BVCD. So if you, that moderates forums on VM's forums, tell me that I should have close this thread before, I won't hold my hand too long.

I'll have to start a new thread then on the DIKO forum.
Sorry to bother you.

Phil, despite I moderate both forums, I should follow each forum rules. It was not a critic to you neither Incredible either. Myself would want to go ahead answering DragonZeal questions, but I had not another option to recall my coleagues attention to the conflictives points that this thread was touching. More than that, before my first answer I checked if I had mod rigths in this subforum to direct my actions when answering.
You can see that I didn't answer either last DragonZeal question.

@DragonZeal: Please, you don't bother anybody here. Its only that some time ago we have some serious problems with divx/xvid users that did see in DIKO a tool to reencode their illegal divx/xvid downloads.
So Kwag, the site admin, withdraw DIKO and xvid/divx questions.
As Dialhot said, Im mod in DIKO forum also, as I think it is not guilty of bad use that persons can do with it. It also gives you an easy way to deal with CCE in case that you don't have enough experience with it. I also discovered a "DIKO only audio" mode very, very useful. But all questions about DIKO you will need to do it in www.vmesquita.com/forum.
Feel free for doing any question (here and there). If we see that those questions are not correct in any way, we will say it to you. I hope you will know to understand.
Thanks.
