I let prodater explain that to you, he loves crazy ideas and I return to silence.
What in Vobedit/demux/ - list of file types do I click on to make m2v & mp2 files?

load the .vob in vobedit then click
demux--->demux complete title set--->OK!
it will give you the right files!

rename your vobs --->before you load in vobedit like this:

VTS_01_1.vob to VTS_01_001.vob
and
VTS_01_2.vob to VTS_01_002.vob
....
...etc!

if you don't do that, vobedit don't "see" the vobs!
then
load the first "renamed" .vob in vobedit then click
demux--->demux complete title set--->OK!

will work fine!

sorry, ...you're right!

now do it (i did here now)

after rename the vobs click
demux---> and check:
demux all video streams,
demux all audio streams and
demux all subp streams (if you have subs)
--->ok!

WOWIEGURL,
i learn alone vobedit and i have horrible english.
it means that vobedit is very easy too use.
follow my steps:
rip one little vob from any movie...round 200MB!
load this vob in vobedit!
check one option and press ok!
after this choose another option and click ok
repeat this steps choosing all options and click ok!
you will see how it works and how it's easy to learn!
vobedit and ifoedit are "intuitives" .

the link that i posted have a big guide to ifoedit and links for vobedit too!
the link is working perfect.

am I supposed to save it as

VTS_01_001.n.xxx and as a ac3 file? then i hit join clip? Can you be more specific as to which options you hit?? there are so many. It makes it easier for a newbie like me.Also can you use ifoedit and vobedit on SRT files? currently I have a xvid.dvdrip that is 700.2mbs. I tried to burn it straightaway, unchecked std compliant in nero and the file, mog and srt came to 1026mbs. I need to shrink it. the movie is for 122mins.

The guide for vobedit is about joining the vobs, not demuxing as stated in Dialbot's guide.

Thanks

JOREL!!!
