It seems the original site has gone offline, so here's a download mirror...

What is Ycopy?

Ruahine Ycopy is a data copying and migration utility, making it easy to copy files between drives unattended. What's special about Ycopy is that when it encounters files or folders that it cannot copy, it adds them to a printable report, and then continues copying the other files. When the copying process is finished, you will be able to read and/or print a report of all the items that could not be processed. And then you can manually try to copy those files again.

Example of "uncopyable" files:
  • duplicate file names
  • file is locked by a program or the operating system
  • file is a protected Windows file
  • the file or hard drive is damaged at that location, and the file cannot be read
Compare this to the built-in Windows copy function, which just stops the copy process, leaving you with the time-consuming task of digging through directories and files to find out where the copying was when it halted and having to guess which files were bad -- and then manually start recopying. Or worse, deleting folders and starting over because it's such a mess.
