Office Depot is having a sale of 25pks of Maxell discs 8X (-Rs & +Rs) for $4.99 a pk. I bought 9 pks of the +Rs made from Japan for $45.00 + tax. You do have to search for the made from Japan discs.

Funny thing is that several of the packs had a sticker saying they were made from Taiwan. Mine didn't, I hope they are still good discs, but at that price??? It is strange because when you check them with CDspeed they don't have a code, but just a Manufacture: Maxell 002?

Looks like I was an early bird too Marcus, I got 12 packs of the -R's this morning... mine are Ritek G05s. They've been burning fine all day today at 8X according to Nero's DVD Speed.

Jay, don't your 8X-Rs say they are made in Taiwan? Personally, I'll take discs from Japan over Taiwan that is why I went with the +R discs. Although getting good discs for $20.00 a 100 was just to much to pass up.

LS, was saying that the Maxell are supposed to be the best out there.I hope he's right!

My store had none. Oh well.
I would never get the Maxell RITEKG05 (Taiwanese).
But the Maxell MXLRG03, great discs (Japanese).

Mine didn't have a code, they just said Manufacturer: Maxell 002. I take it that they aren't the MXLRG03?
