Hello,

I've been reading through the forums and have not found this discussion so please forgive me if I missed it.

I have a large number of VHS tapes I want to convert to DVD or digital download. The DVDs vary in quality. Am I better off using a Super VHS player with TBC or a VCR to DVD combo player that upconverts to 1080p? If it's the latter, any recommendations on player? I've seen the list of recommended Super VHS players.

Thank you.

Upconversion does nothing positive, and has many potential negatives.

You want the S-VHS VCR with line TBC. It will be a night-and-day quality difference, between an old ratty VCR, or even a new (and still ratty) HDMI VCR.
