I was able to snag this from Amazon for $40, after reading the good reviews on the 600 series in the forums.

With this USB device, I should be able to capture lossless .AVI correct? And will I need VirtualDub to capture to AVI (have used Scenalyzer in the past)?

Yes, you can capture lossless and you will need Vdub to do it.

Great, then I will go ahead and download VDub and when the card arrives then I will test it out. Getting the USB version is good since I can use it on my laptop since I don't have my i7 workstation built yet.

I also have the Happauge 1212 but I only use that for mostly HD sources.
