Is Datavideo STC-100 a good integrated TBC?

Hi guys,

Looking for the Tbc on the web I run into the Datavideo STC-100 that is an Ntsc/pal converter with integrated Tbc (or that is what I understood )!

Is it good used as Tbc?

No.

Both the DataVideo and Cypress (AVToolbox) format converters only work when the signal is being switched.

PAL > NTSC = TBC on
NTSC > PAL = TBC on
PAL > PAL = TBC off
NTSC > NTSC = TBC off

The TBC cannot be controlled. It's only enabled when the formats are being converted, not when the signal is be played straight though.

This was a stupid design choice.
