hell i have encoded my movie and it is currently 617MB. I took the audio out of it by using VirtualDub[direct stream processing], and converted it to .MP2 with BeSweet. When i mux them my MPG file comes up to a little under 1 GB :S I am pretty sure i had the settings right. THe reason i didnt want to follow the Idiot's gudie and make an .MP2 out of TMPGEnc was because i herad TMPGEnc sucks with handling audio. Thanks!

It's amazing how many people use the ONLY ONE version of tmpgenc that has a bug. They can have 2.58, 2.510, 2.513, 2.520 or even 2.521 but no, they are unlucky

2.59 can't mux correctly a MPEG1 file in "non copmpliant VCD". Whatever you choose, you obtain a VCD compliant file and this is fixed to 10 MB per minutes of movie.

That is why you have a too big file.

Nevermind. I got it working. I used BBMPEG. THe reason it didnt work before is that somehow BeSweet was encoding the sound into mp3 layer. It just added an .mp2 extension. ANyways i used EXPStudio's Audio Converter 1.0 [which is pretty good]. I muxed then burnt and played fine on my dvd player.

Hmm. i just watched it and the audio lags about 2 seconds behind. how can i fix this?

I found out myself. You guys are pretty much useless. KVCD is a good creation. Too bad you got only 2 mods over 14 forums that know how to handle questions. Thats why not a lot of people know how to use it and it is not popular.

Worse : some people find themselves a solution to their problem and never explain how they did on the board letting others have the same trouble. Can you imagine that ?

Unbelivable...

hmmm
i have this prob myself
what happens is the audio file is something around 4 hours long and has no audio, the original avi is fine for audio too
the odd thing is is that i have encoded other avi fine with no problems but only certain files will encode right

i followed the whole idiot guide in hopes that it would fix it but it still gives me a 4 hour audio file
i switched versions of TMPG, was using 2.52 to 2.58

what else can i do or what exactly was the solution here???

STOP USING THE IDIOT GUIDE !
This title tell it all : IT IS IDIOT !

In fact I know now what happens : tmpgenc is unable to handle audio in VBR MP3 in the source. In such case, if you try to encode audio directly from the avi with tmpgnec, or if you use tmpgenc to demux the audio (I don't remember well what is done in this stupid idiot guide), your audio will be like you say : unbelievably (and abnormaly) long.

How did you demux (separate) the audio track ? If you use tmpgenc THAT IS THE SAME PROBLEM ! As I told just above.
