I made the conversion jpg->mpeg whit vcdeasy.
I've got the mpeg file. If I look at it whit the option of TMPGENC mpegtools, De-multiplex , I see two video_stream ( high and low resolution).
Now how can add the audio stream to get a small mpeg file?
If I use mltiplex from mpeg tools we only way to have a mpeg of right size is Mpeg1 system ( automatic) o Mpeg1 vcd non standard. Is that right?

That's the problem! While the mpeg tools in TMPGEnc can demux the stills, it can't mux them with audio! Nor Bbmpeg.
The only muxer I know that works is Iauthor, but it's not freeware, and I think it has been discontinued, so it's very hard to find and if you find it it may not be legal...
WinOnCD can also mux stills+audio, but it's not freeware and it doesn't have a standalone muxer, you have to encode the audio, stills, author the disk and burn all in WinOnCD.
What can we do?
We could request the AVCD mux capability to the makers of TMPGEnc, or to the authors of the still tools in VCDEasy.
We could write or mod our own muxer, if we have the knowledge to do that.
I think the lack of tools for this application is due to the fact that lots of modern DVD players can play mp3's, so why bother with it?

Just to listen at my favorite music with my old philips cd-i , I found the follow very usefuel :
Making audio vcd.
software : vcdeasy e videocd toolkit by philips
1) create the audio file 44.000 Hz 224 kbit Mpeg1 layer 2
2) Create the image
a) open vcdeasy.
b) go to tools -> Mpeg stills
c) uncheck "Delete temporary files"
d) convert you picture in mpeg
3) open the VCD Mx program ( part of vcd toolkit 2.0)
a) from menu functions-> auto mux
b) put on video stream the file converted at point 2.d which have a "_" at the end of the name and extension m1v.
c) put n audio stream the audio you created at point 1
4) There you are. You have an mpeg to author with vcdeasy and with the file size about the same of the audio file.

I haven't tried the above method yet...
But, the new version of VCDEasy (1.1.7) seems to support "audio vcd ".

hello!
audio - (vcd or svcd or dvd) with stills (pictures) will work:
in standalones if the audio is AC3 ?
in the pc if the audio is ogg (or ac3) ? (here seems possible- maybe a stup doubt)
anyone knows about that or did "crazy" tests (like i'm thinking to do)
thanks!

Are you kidding, Jorge? Of course I'm interested
I just missed your early post.
But as I mentioned in the MP3 forum I'm lacking time to do it, right now
Maybe next week.
Have you got any idea to start
Cheers
