Guides to Author KVCD on DVD-R?

I can not find any information or guides to author kvcd on dvd-r. I have just made my first successful kvcd on a cd-r using the KVCD-ULBR-352x240-_NTSCFilm_-PLUS.mcf template. I wish to use this same template to strech the imagination as to how much video I can fit on one DVD-R...

do you want to convert/encode to mpg that's dvd compliant?
or do you want to put {already encoded} kvcd's that youve already Kooked?

I think you can probably fit about 6 to 10 hours of video using the
KDVD template{s}. Maybe about two apps of the ones u list above will handle kvcd's or vcd-ready mpg files... other than using svcd2dvdmpg or KVCD2DVDMPG Pro, Plus,,or another one like that....

most i think ive done to date is four movies on a dvdr, about two hours each.....with dvd-to-dvd_like, to svcd to svcd-like quality...
i guess it also depends on how much quality you can stand...

and yes, youre right,,there's no guide yet....
I'm working on a simple guide, problem is that everyone uses different appz to author...but it should be straight forward enuff to follow , burning would be covered too, but again,,,its subjective...

That would be great for you to implement a guide for at least one popular authoring program. I think that this site and ideas are great but to be more newbie friendly would certainly help it grow and improve.
P.S. I am sorry, I seem to be a victim of not researching before I ask Stupid questions. But thanx I appriciate your information... :P

Well first off, I am new to this forum so...hello. I am however not new to ripping, encoding, muxing, demuxing, etc., etc. But, being new to the latest formats such as KVCD, KDVD etc., etc., I find myself scratching my head in trying to decipher a way to convert KVCD to DVD (mpeg2) format.

Last night I used TPMGenc to convert a KVCD to mpeg2 DVD compliant file and I haven't had a chance to burn this to a DVD-R as yet. I viewed the converted mpg2 file in WinDvd and so far (about 25 minutes) it looks great. I am sure you are asking yourself why I would want to convert from KVCD to anything else. The answer is simple. My set top player does not play the newer formats. I have tried to convert and burn KVCD's to VCD, SVCD both compliant and non-compliant using Nero6 but no joy. My player does play (according to Pioneer's website) CDRW, DVDR, DVDRW, SVCD, VCD and mp3's. I have even tried to burn the Bin file and play that through it but no luck.

So, in a nutshell I have had no luck in burning or converting to VCD or SVCD a KVCD file. Your guide would be greatly appreciated if it is done yet. I will search the rest of the forum to see if I can find it but, I thought I would start here.
