Hi there,
There are 2 sets of Optimal Script, one for 2.51 and another for 2.08 What is the major difference, if any, between these 2 versions and what advantage will there be from switching from 2.08 to 2.51? Thanks.

Hi syk2c11,
The script posted for 2.51 doesn't work with avisynth 2.08 because of the new functions added. Also the speed of 2.51 is much faster than 2.08.

Hi Kwag,
If I want to switch from 2.08 to 2.51, do I have to uninstall the 2.08 first? I can't find the link for 2.51, can you post it here? Thanks!

Hi syk2c11,
yes, uninstall the old version.
You can find the link to the newest version in sh0dan's signature.

What I did was extract this to a folder. Find my avisynth.dll in my Windows\system32 folder and copy it to a new sub-directory called Avisynth 208 under my newly created avisynthswitcher folder. I then uninstalled v2.08 and installed avisynth 2.51 and repeated the steps to copy the avisynth.dll to a folder for Avisynth 251.
The program comes with 2.5 alpha (don't use) and 2.07 versions of avisynth. This allowed me to use both easily.

Hi Krassi and others,
Thanks for the link, I just downloaded it. Do I have to use VirtualDubMOD, I am now using just Virtual Dub, will there be any problem with AVISynth 2.51? Thanks again.
If I have to switch to VirtualDubMOD, where can I get it?

well, i had to delete the avisynth.dll from both the system, AND the system32 folders. Then i put the corresponding avisynth.dll's from avisynth 2.08, and avisynth 2.52 into the correct folders in the avisynthswitcher folder. After that everything works (ToK, TMPGEnc, etc.) execpt for Moviestacker. I think it's because Moviestacker searches the system folder for the avisynth.dll, but it isn't there. Hope this helps.

hi,
I tried the nu avisynth, but I realized that the quality was much worse then with the old version!!
I took the script from the optimal script section, and used tok to get the perfect CQ.
With the old avisynth, the CQ was 70, but now it's only 50, with the same preferences(352,480)!!
What should i do now??

I have no idea what to do also.

HI plautzer,Nevermind what i said before that was a sample but when i did the whole movie results weren't so good
I tried the newscript and changing the motionestimate on tmpge and am not happy with the results.
I am doing divx, xvid files only so this may be the problem.

To bring to the point,
is the that new release stable and good enough to work with or should I stay with the old version??
I dont know if i do anything wrong, but is it supposed to last 12 hours to encode a movie(2CDs)??
I figured that there is no good way to get a 90 min movie on one CD, it has always real bad mistakes in the middle of the movie!!!
Can I speed it somehow up?? Would u advise to u tok?
OK, that's all i wanna know, i would be phat if u help me with some of it!!
Thx,
Plautzer
