from 2.08 to 2.52. It seems a lot more difficult to use.

i change my system to 252.
do a big test and you see how it is faster.
make a script without any filter.
encode a sample with 208.
then encode the same sample with 252.

I`m there...heck, we`re all learning at some level anyway!
(specially me...the lower level... )
After the initial change, and some getting used to...it`ll get easier.

The optimal script can still be copied and pasted, just change the LoadPlugin and MPEG2Source lines.

Hello:
AS mentioned in a different thread, I am also going to switch to 2.52, and I started by un-installing 2.08, except that I can not do it. When I go to control panel add/remove, to remove 2.08, I receive the following message:"Unable to locate the installation log file. Uninstallation will not continue". I soppose that I can work with 2.08 in the system, but would really like to remove it.
Thank you for your suggestions.

 totonho03
search in your system for the
avisynth.dll
in windows system or system32,not in dvd2svcd prog
(i know that you use this prog)
delete this dll, then install the 252 or:
reinstall again the 208 and try to uninstall,
after this install the 252 version.

After doing a few encodes with divx, xvid avi's i have found that the new 2.52 does not give me a better picture.I still get the best results with the old avisynth and the optimal script without STMedian. Is anyone doing xvid or divx movies and getting better results with the new aviysnth.
ONe other thing with the new 2.52 for BicubicResize( Your_Resize_Values_Here ) do you load your source into moviestacker and then uncheck gripfit and use those numbers, and then do you have to use AddBorders( Your_Values_Here ) beacuse if i don't add borders i get an error in tok.

Hi Bigggt. I'm on 2.5.2. Yes that is what I do. You need to use AddBoarders to return the resolution to one of the KVCD values recognised by Tok. I do not use overscan values in MovieStacker (which shrinks picture) rather I use LetterBox(16,16,16,16) at the end which clips what you won't see anyway and conserves a bit of extra vertical height and file size.
By the way if you are not using Gripfit then you will need to work out the "Film Pixels" so you don't end up spending time filtering the black bars on widescreen. I open the .d2v in Tmpgenc and use the clip function to give me the values. Not sure if there is a better way to get values.

YEs Bigg exactly load Moviestaker than copy n paste the values for
Resize n Addborders , Now you said you're not getting better Q, maybe you want to try first the script without the Adaptive Filtering on it and see how is the Quality than you can experiment the with the full script.
