Hi everybody!

I definetely like the new STMedian Filter Setting you recommended kwag! It cleans backgrounds pretty good and lets the picture look more stable!
However in my current source I can see blocks in very high action scenes, and I'd like to know how to change the MA routine, so that it blurs some more during action scenes to avoid blocks!

Thanks a lot!

Watch out, cause if you rise the values in the unfilter part of ma, like the multiplikator or something else the picture will do a viewable sharp-soften-sharp "ping-pong" in scenes when nf is touching the threshold!
Example person stands on the campus camera is focussed on her face, so the face looks sharp, suddenly some cars behind her in the background are passing by ... that means the nf factor suddenly rises up, flys over the threshold and therefore the whole picture will blur! And you will notice that cause your eyes will focus her face, cause its the "eye catch" of the scene
It would be better do manipulate the TempSoften part of the ma, cause you wont notice that much if a surface after a moving scene suddenly becomes more "static".
Cause this is the meaning of MA, to play games with our subjective perception when watching the movie.

So refering to your actual problem the first question would be:
Whats your max.bitrate in the CQ Settings?

Exactly
I couldn't have described it better incredible
To fix that, you might want to increase the trigger point so that only on very high movement, blurring will kick in.
Something like: --> SwitchThreshold = (Width<=352) ? 12 : (Width<=480) ? 10 : 8 <--

Ok! I already did that
(You cant imagine how many mods I tried on the ma the last days)

BUT ... the more cq the scenes will become when being over the threshold=8, therefore less CQ will obtain the Scenes below Thresh.=8.
And this overall does almost give you a 1:1 advantage
(I hope I explained this understandable)

@JellyGoose

An the other hand (same scene, but just a bit different):
The same *nice* Girl with her beautiful face we are focussing on stands on a sidewalk just a bit traffic behind her, maybe this will give us a nf of 4 and again suddenly behind her a big Truck passes by, filling up with his motion the whole background
Therefore the result of the nf could be 12!!!
And "plopp"
"What happend to my glasses???..." you will think,
"...did my girlfriend throwed a bottle of milk in my face???? What I've done wrong again ??? Did I focus to much this nice girl so she got jealous ??"
Cause thats how it will look like in these seconds.
But don't worry when the Truck is out of the picture we recognise this "plopp" again and we can continue enyoing her beautyful face.
But I like ... when beautiful girls will stay beautiful!
