So you can't use any temporal filter (as they can't deal with interlaced frames)
Just like incredible said, separate the odd and even fields before any temporal filtering. There are a number of scripts floating around that can be adapted to MA quite easily.

Do not mistake "encoding interlaced" and "encoding an interlaced source",
What makes you think I'm making that mistake? It's not that complicated. One of the fundamental differences between MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 is full support for encoding interlaced material. MPEG-2 was designed to be a broadcast standard, and since most broadcast material is either interlaced or telecined.....

I bet than sbin do not either think that was a problem.
I'll take that bet.
@ incredible
Thanks for the tip. I didn't realize the matrix needed to be reordered for interlaced material. I'll try it the next time I come across such material.

It´s 3 times slower, the image is not as soft as with Fielddeinterlace, here´s a sample with the new script,

Hi,

well in my cases it takes almost the same time cause the filters have to deal with the exact same amount of data!

Shure your output using fielddeinterlace comes out softer, cause your'e just simply blending fields. And thats not the sport.
If you're happy with such a blured picture then, ok .. do just the fielddeinterlace() where btw. also a bit more CQ comes out cause of its softeness.

I don't know now why along the time we changed to an interlaced encoding , but try my deinterlace-recommendations one page before of this thread, instead of just using the simple Fielddeinterlace().
Also Kerneldeint or TomsMoComb are doing very good jobs!

BTW: Is that pic above the output of avs or already encoded?
It seems to me like doublesized including the mosquito noises.

I don´t mind the time, I just want the best picture! I´ll try those others!

edit: The picture is encoded and resized to 704x576!
