some months ago i post seamless problem but can't find the thread.
then...here we go again:

source- toy story 1 and/or toy story 2, target KDVD!

script from MovieStacker with BicubicResize overscan 1 :
BicubicResize(704,352,0,0.6,0,0,720,480)
AddBorders(8,64,8,64)

script from MovieStacker with GripFit overscan 1 :
GripCrop(720, 480, overscan=1)
GripSize(resizer="BicubicResize")
GripBorders()

results loading the scripts in vdub and after encode with tmpgenc or cce:

with GripFit, loose details in the right and in the left of the scenes.
no matter if is on pc or tv...
BicubicResize show the scenes like the source without loose anything.
.....with or without overscan got proportional errors.... the same!

it happen in some movies and don't know the reason.
this was not the first time that i got this "errors".
in dvd2svcd a months ago, GripFit give me big problems...maybe Phil remember this!

comments please!
thanks!

Hi Jorel!
Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I saw the same thing when I experimented with The Matrix Reloaded. Don't know what causes this though...

The first thing Gricrop does is to remove the black borders existing in the picture. For that it has to determine if these borders are present, and how thick they are. Sometimes this fails and remove a part of the image insteed of a black border.

Try the plugin "Autocrop()" for avisynth, it does the same things. You will see that very often the film area detected by the plugin actually crop some pixels on the sides.

Never had that, never saw that? And don't have any more answer for you
But I never use Autocrop for actually crop the image. I just use it to visually see if there are borders arround my source when I'm not sure. And if there are, I use a refuler "Crop()" to remove them

http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=67973#67973

Hi,

Thanks Jorel, you're welcome!

I post that because I'm using Bicubic precise in the Optimal script, instead of ASharp+bicubic, and I thought it could help somebody.
I see that it's the case!

Salu2
Fabrice
