kwag-
I have looked at FitCD and not really sure what to do. How do I go about performing your recommendation on IVTC? I am having great results when using TMPEG to IVTC. I agree it is very slow, but haven't spent the time with FitCD to figure it out.
Did do some sample comparisions with captured avi's.
-With kvcdx3 (no changes) was averaging 16 mb/min
-With kvcdx3 (Cq_vbr at 20 and NR selected) was averaging 14 mb/min - long encoding time however
-With kvcdx3 (CQ_VBR at 17 no NR) was averaging about 13 mb/min
All in all every encode was awesome!
I watch all dvds on Panasonic RV32 on a Sony Trinitron set and cannot see a difference from the original DVD. :P
One thing with the pass through feature is that the video recorded to the HD at 29.97 fps and is interlaced. You MUST IVTC to get the great quality and NOT deinterlace.
If you can give me some pointers on the FitCD approach kwag, would greatly appreciate it!
