Current i am using nero recode mostly because of the ease of the program. I can batch encode and it crops everything for me. I use the main profile and pending ont he movie select whether i want 2.0 stereo or 5.1. So i usually batch about 10 movies at a time. Which takes days compared to the ol mpeg 2 encoding. The great thing about this program is that is crops and deinterlaces for you. Only problem is these files do not play well on my xbox due the fact i have cabac enabled. But since i really want the best quality i figured maybe my 360 will be able to play them in due time. Though xbmc may be able to port TCPMP over to the box even though coreAVC said they will not support mplayer at this time. So i guess we will see.
I about 50 days time i have converted about 120 of my movies to 108 gigs
with the resolution at dvd resolution. So good luck to anyone else doing this as well. Has anyone looked into making there own lcd projectors at all? Like those found at www.lumenlab.com or www.diyaudio.com.
