Hi guys,
Just to let you know that Xlite has gone 3.0.
Now it looks very similar to EyeBeam that used to be known as Xlite Pro.
Xlite 3.0 still doesn't provide off the shelf G.729 codec but the good news is that now it became very easy to setup and configure!
Oh and I almost forgot.
I bought a cheap USB Bluetooth adapter for 12€.
And I had already bought a Jabra BT-150 bluetooth headset for less than 30€.
Now when I'm on the car I set the headset to pair with the cellphone.
When I get home I set the headset to pair with the USB Bluetooth adapter and this way I can place/receive calls with Xlite and I can move around 10 meters from the PC .
Plus if I set it up on a old PC without soundcard there won't be any problems because the BT adapter itself emulates a soundcard .
Neat stuff, huh?
You gotta love VoIP :P.

Go ahead and test it and then tell me what you think.
I would say that although some good and advanced features are gone this is still a very good software.
Now even my wife and my kid can use Xlite and navigate through the menues without getting lost :P.
But I do miss some advanced features that are either gone or very well hidden...

I'd like to make a test, when you have some time
Remember once, about a year ago, I gave you an extension number on my Asterisk PBX
That was when I had a public IP, which I no longer have, because now I sit behind a NAT private IP
BUT, "Hamachi" to the rescue
I installed Hamachi (Linux version) on my Asterisk box, so you can now connect to my Hamachi VPN IP, and connect with a VoIP client, such as Firefly. I haven't tried SIP, but IAX protocol works like a charm
