It rocks
I'm currently chatting with jorel
http://www.skype.com/download.html
It works with Windows 98SE, even though it says it only works with 2000 and XP.
You can find me as username "kvcdnet"

Does anybody know a good application for video conferencing
All good programs i've found are commercial

Skype seems to be good. Kwag, we have to test Puerto Rico - Germany
If only there wouldn't be such a time difference...

Hello all:

Well, I am not surprise by the problems encountered when trying to use skypes. I have tried to use it in both my desktop, which is really a 486 machine, and skype may not work there, and the laptop. Both of them are W98SE, and the laptop has a PIII 800 Mhz CPU.
Any way, wht aAI receive in both of them is:
Code:
"Internal fatal erro #3002(Division by zero) Skype will be close"
I have registered, and the funy part is that every time I open Skype and enter my user's name and password, it asks me for an update of my personal file, and I receive the error message after pressing next.
Murphy has been playing overtime with me for a long long time.

Regards

Yes, well the program constantly freezes after about 5 seconds of using scype. Good quality, but apparently I can only recieve and not send if i dont want to have the program lock up on me.

Hi all:

I was checking the skype forum at http://80.160.91.13/bb/, and did learn that there are some folks using W98SE with problems similar to mine. Any way, check the forum, it is interesting.....

Hello Jorel:

I forgot your W98SE set up. Would it be possible for you to remind me about it?:
CPU? RAM? In your communications set up, what have you checked? (That is control panel > Add/Remove Programs > Windows set up > Communications, followed by a list of components. Which components are checked in your set up? (Dial ATM; Dial up network; VPN; etc.etc.)
According to some of the folks at the skype forum, the program will should work when the proper components are checked. Do not really know if this is true, because some of the users are stating that they have checked all of the components, and others say that the program will work with some of such components checked, but no one has defined which component should be marked.

Thanks for your help

Totonho03

Edit: Are you stating that when connected no one can hear you but that you can hear others?

Hi Jorel:

Thank you for your response.
I have tried several combinations, but none are working for me. I cannot even connect at all, the program closes itself after the error mentioned earlier.
Have you ever used your system to do voice chat other than skype?
Have you tried entering their forum? Perhaps someone else may have resolved similar problems.

Thanks again and best regards

Otto

Hi Jorge:

Here is a spyke link that may be useful. Actually it is very basic, and I am sure that you have performed all of the steps recommended here; however, it is also given you links to other posts........
http://80.160.91.13/bb/viewtopic.php?t=216
Good luck

Otto

P.S.- If it does not help you with the sound, at least it gives hints to find a girl friend (Which is part of the tittle of the topic)
