Have I finally find the best help site with converting probs and stuff? I will find out now I suppose :P My problem is .....
I have this DVDripped avi DivX file and I want to convert it to SVCD (mpeg-2), but my prob is how do I convert my file to SVCD so it fits on 2 cd-r cd's (the cd's is on 700mb)
Well I first cut my avi file into 2 pieces and then convert. So I want the output file so it can fit on one cd-r , and I forgot to tell ya the half movie is on about 350 mb (convert 350 to SVCD so it can fit on one cd)
And the output file, I want it in the best quality as possible
So how do I do

Plz help

Hi Wolfi,

Check out DVD2SVCD. It has a AVI input to convert to SVCD.
Go to http://www.doom9.net and select forum. There you will
find a DVD2SVCD group for beginners and advanced. Search for
AVI conversion to SVCD. There guide is also very helpful.

Hey Wolfi,

Input your Divx into VirtualDub. Go to "File"->"File Information".
Check the section for "Audio Stream" -> Compression: If it's
*Unknown, you may have a .ac3 or .ogg format. If it's mp3
then DVD2SVCD should be able to convert this Divx.
You probably have to convert it manually using:

(Audio)
VirtualDub -> BeeSweet -> Headac3he -> mp2

(Video)
FitCD -> Tmpgenc (KVCD-MPEG2) -> m1v

(Multx)
bbMPEG -> mpg

(Burn)
Nero or EasyVCD -> CD movie.mpg

Thx guys but 1 more quest
If I have a avi file that is around 350mb and I want to follow the vcd help instructions. Do I have to have PCMas audio format ? Wont my 350mb file get much bigger so I in the end cant fit the SVCD on one cd?

(Flie from biggining)350mb ---> around 700mb (after uncompressed audio) ---> SVCD around 1,5 gb!!! or how will it be??

Do I have to uncompress the audio if I want my SVCD file from the avi file
