Am i missing how to tell CQMatic that I want to use 2 CD80's. I get the right bitrate for Calcumatic, but CQ just tries to jam it on one disk.

Hi dnstommy,

You mean CalcuMatic, right?
Here's a screenshot

Note under "Media", where I select "2" under "Number of Disks".

No I was trying to use CQmatic to get my CQ for a 2 disc KVCD. Can CQMatic only do one? Seems like it. I am using your TempEnc 2 pass method now, and thats seem promissing so far.

Can you explain better your problem ? I can't know if I do not understand you or if you missed something in the usage of CQMatic.

Can CQMatic do a 2 CD KVCD ? Yes of course ! You have to give it the parameters found by Calcumatic like Karl explained you.

If I put all in the info from CalcuMatic it gives me Ave Bitrate of 1277.8. If I put that into CQMatic with a time of 153 it tries to find the right CQ to fit that that on 1 CD80.

I just put 80 seconds and 1277.8 into CQMatic and it made me a 1100 mb file, so I guess thats a good work around.

No. CQMatic tries to find the correct CQ to reach the average you give to it. So if you used correcly calcumatic, then CQMatic will predict for 2 CD.

No ! CQMatic can't work with that ! To predict it needs have to correct length.

What was the CQ found ? if it was 89.57 then that means that your movie won't fit 2CD.

i used a length of 80 and the right average. it came out with 1.2 gb of video. so it worked, but i guess by luck. i didn't know cqmatic looked for the average rate, that makes more sense. thanks again. i will give it a try on vanilla sky now.
