KVCD: is Adjusting the Letterbox Causing the Large File?

I need help with this converting as i must be doing something wrong. I converted a movie that was 84mins long (which took nearly 15hours on a 1.3 tbird athlon using tmpgenc 2.5) I also have the highest quality setting selected. The final movie was 813mb which leaves me to think how can you get any more onto a cdr?

I had to mess about with the size of the video ratio as the video was less than 1 third of the screen which looked terrible! Maybe this has caused the file size to be so big but it wouldnt be much fun watching a movie through a keyhole never mind a letter box. If anyone could let me know if they have overcome this problem, or if they are having the same problem let me know.
