Hi Kwag,
The settings for templates have changed for min and max bitrates,
GOP's and Blockbuster noise and sharpen. Could you post the
current settings. I have some settings that are still using old
parms. ?

Hi black prince,
The parameters I'm currently testing are these:
Blockbuster( method="noise", detail_min=1, detail_max=3, lv=1.5 ) # Apply noise if complexity is <= 3%.
Blockbuster( method="sharpen", detail_min=4, detail_max=99, strength=20 ) # Sharpen only if complexity is >= 4%.
Hold on tight on the templates. I'm double checking them right now. I'll be uploading them in the next hour. You'll see the message on the "What's happening" section.

Kwag,
In your announcements, you mention using the Blockbuster filter for the SKVCD template. Is the filter with the settings you mentioned above also worthwhile when using the LBR or LBR@320x480 template?

You bet
But for the SKVCD, try this:
Blockbuster( method="noise", detail_min=1, detail_max=3, lv=1.5 ) # Apply noise if complexity is <= 3%.
Blockbuster( method="sharpen", detail_min=4, detail_max=99, strength=15 ) # Sharpen only if complexity is >= 4%.
The higher the resolution, the less sharpen you need. So I dropped the "strength" from 20 on the LBR to 15 for 352x480 resloution. Experiment with that value, and see what you get

Hi Kwag,
Just downloaded new templates LBR, Mpeg-1_x3, MPEG-2_x3 and noticed
their GOP's settings are 1, 5823, 2, 1, 18. I thought they were supposed
to be 1, 18, 2, 1, 18. Which is correct?
Thanks

They are correct . You never saw the "KVCD signature" postings Look at your telephone key pad
When the "MAX number of frames per GOP is not 0, ex: 18, no matter what you set the P frames, this value regulates it
So ( 1, 5823(KVCD), 2, 1, 18 ) = ( 1, 18, 2, 1, 18 )

The DVD2SVCD forum here at KVCD.net specified the GOP's as
(1, 18, 2, 1, 18 ) and I never realized it was the same as ( 1, 5823(KVCD), 2, 1, 18 ).
Thanks
