The race is on who will be the first to try to encode star wars episode two.
I bet you that source is a real clean dvd. Personally I would like to cut out 50% of the movie and get to the good part at the end

I have a rent to buy plan with my local video rental store and after watch-
ing the first hour of this 2hr 22 min sleeping pill, I am not even going to
try and buy it and backup it up. Even the special effects couldn't save
this Spielburg epic. The story line was so typical of past Star Wars that
Stevie Wonder could have written this movie with his eyes blind folded.
It needed a villan that could make Darth Vader look like a school boy and
new weapons other than the time honored light saber. My DVD was poorly
authored. It only had vhs quality. I'll wait for "Minority Report". Here's a
movie where you're arrested for crimes you are going to comit in the
future. Now that's interesting. Tom Cruise plays the head investigator who
has been accused of future crimes and is on the run from his own
agency. The special effects are great and story is interesting.

My source is DVD, not bootleg!! and what's sad is your attacking
me instead of giving reasons about why Star Wars II is so great?

Not all DVD sold are SuperBit quality. You should know that.

This makes no sense at all.

Don't feel bad black prince. You are kind of right about star wars. Everyone who has watched it has said that the first hour and a half of star wars was blah. What i liked was seing yoda fight and tyring to figure out what causes anakin to change to Darth Vader. Plus I am a history buff, so the parallelism between the rise of the empire and the nazi regime is quite interesting. (Most Sci fi stories have some parallelism either to history or spirtuality, that;s why I love them) But George Lucas, has sort of sold out to commercialism. This dynamic story of innocence turning into evil, has been tainted with his desire to make money and introduce cutting edge technology. I haven't sent it on DVD yet, but is it true that all DVDs of the same movie are not created equal ?

As for Minority Report, I saw it with my husband on our trip to Miami. I really wanted to see Sum of all Fears, but I liked Minority Report, even though I am more emotional attached to Star Wars, although not as much as your new friend on this thread.

since when did i say it was a great movie? its really not, but its laughable that you said your dvd was of vhs quality. and 'your' should be you're.

no they arent, and some are better than superbit. this is one of them. you should know that.

its 89 by the way. and if you want to call it attacking, be my guest. i'm not here to attack anyone personally. i call it challenging. find me a vhs movie that is of the same quality as episode 2, and i'll shut up. find me a dvd that is of the same quality, there are very few, if any. maybe the new lotr extended edition. now are there any movies better than episode 2, god i hope so. its really not that good of a movie, i never said it was. there are thousands of movies better than the star wars series. the trouble is, none of them look or sound quite like it.

hey lady miles, dont mean to get you involved in this, but could you please point out where i said i thought ep2 was a good movie? i dont know where this is coming from, but just point it out in my original post so i can be clear. thanks

ok kwag, i just wanted to prove my point, the 'vhs quality' reference was a little extreme though. i just get fired up every now and then. this is a great site, and youre doing a great job with the templates, keep it up.

Ok, so going back to the topic, "Who will be the first to encode Star Wars ?"

(1) Anyone who likes it, will.
(2) Anyone who doesn't, won't

That's why colors were made. So that we can choose the best one we like.

ThaThaThaThat's all folks

with ep2, i'm having trouble with the audio, headac3he doesnt like the ac3 file ripped. but i recently read in a post here that i should use mpeg mediator to rip a wav and then use headac3he to encode to mp2. will this yield better results than what ive been doing, which is this...rip the vob files, use dvd2avi to get a d2v and ac3, then using headac3he to make a wav, then using the d2v and wav in tmpegenc. which method would be better? and should i use dolby surround 2 for the sound format, i have a dpl2 receiver (pioneer elite vsx-45tx), so i think that should make it sound better. also, on the ep2 disc, i seem to be ripping the spanish version? when looking through the vob files, i noticed that the famous 'text roll' at the beginning of star wars movies, is in spanish! wtf...ok i guess thats it for now, later

I bought epi2 yesterday because it was on sale at walmart for 14.77 so my husband and I skimmed on grocies buy it.. I just finished watching epi2, so many mixed feelings. I will always love star wars 1)because of what I said in my previous thread and 2)my family nickname growing up was yoda (i guess because I was short and cute)

Anyway tell me how it goes will the encoding Jetta. I am not sure if I want to do it or not, I think somethings should just stay dvd, but I might change my mind if the filters work.

But the acting of anakin was so hideous, and that really pulled the movie down. However, seeing Yoda and the Jedi in action always puts a smile on my face.

Btw, the quality of the dvd was okay, although I am no expert. The faces sometimes lacked clarity, but it might be I just need hdtv, I don't know.

Well in the uk star wars was released monday I had a 4 disc rip done through dvd2svcd by the next day, but I didn't use the kwag matrix or templates, I used the default setings. Still a Excellent copy, but not as clear as the dvd as I heard that was filmed and encoded digitally. I'll try and do a screenshot

OT: what about the old car commercial where it was said "You can have it in any colour you like as long as it is black" Hence the name of a Pink Floyd song, Any Colour You Like.

LOL, kwag.
I've already encoded Star Wars EP2, just not on a KVCD, but an SVCD.

I diddn't encode on KVCD because they don't work on my DVD player.

So...Did I win the contest? LoL
